Katie Page: Woman Business Entrepreneur

Women entrepreneur is the term which is given to that population of female who is part of the business activities such as: assembling, manufacturing, other businesses, etc. These women actively plays their role by taking initiative, organising and by properly operating business activity. Kay Leslie page or Katie page was born in Mareeba, Queensland, Australia, in 1956. Katie is an Australian woman entrepreneur and the CEO at Harvey Norman. She is a huge supporter of professional sports and actively takes part and promote women in various sports. In 2015, Katie under the list of “50 most powerful women in business” secured fourth position. She has a net worth of $80 Million in the Harvey Norman Holdings Limited.

Katie completed her graduation from Brisbane State High School and was planning to become surveyor. She was discouraged by the idea of becoming surveyor as the pay given to women was very low at that time. When she was 19, she participated in an “intelligence test” in which she wanted to raise funds for the children with autism. Gerry Harvey was one of the judges in that test. After six years, Katie was offered position as an assistant by Harvey at his new Harvey Norman store. Page was working in the store where her work was related to ad buying, marketing, sales and publicity of the store and the company. She was dealing with all the marketing and promotion of the company. At the age of 32 in 1988, she got married to Gerry Harvey.

Harvey and his partner Ian Norman founded Harvey Norman in 1982 where Harvey is the executive chairman of the company. Katie in 1983 joined the company as an assistant and by the year 1999 she became the CEO of the company. Katie held the company to grow by contributing her time and idea to the company. The company under the supervision of Katie, expanded into many regions. New Zealand In 1996, Singapore in 2000, etc.

Katie Page was not only showed her excellency in the business as CEO bur also took active participation in the sports. Her favourite sport is badminton. Katie Page was very active as a backer of various professional sports. The is the co- owner in one of the racehorse aution house with Harvey along with many race horses and around four breeding studs. Katie was aslo the first women who got elected to the board of NRL (National Rugby League). She also introduced NRL for women's in the year 2005.

Katie page owns shares at the Byron Resort and spa in Byron, New south Wales. She also did various development at the Main Beach, Queensland in 2015. This was a luxurious residential project which also consist of seven Boutique apartments.
